"Brighton-7s" is an insert chip for cutting tools made from polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN). It has been developed for high-efficiency cutting of Ni-hard cast iron, high-hardness cast iron, high-chromium alloys, tough ductile cast iron (pearlite structure), surface-hardened alloys, and powder alloys. With high resistance to chipping, wear, and chemical stability, it provides long tool life, high dimensional accuracy, maintenance of surface finish, and improved productivity in the machining of various iron-based metals.
